As a broadcaster in local radio and a freelance writer, his work has appeared in a variety of publications including Sounds, Elle, The Guardian and Melody Maker. since the late Eighties he has worked in book publishing, commissioning and over 60 titles on music, movies, and fashion. As author his books include the much acclaimed The Art of the Beatles in 1984, the best-selling Elvis: A Celebration(2002) which he researched and wrote in collaboration with the Presley Estate in Memphis, and NYC Rock and Waking Up in New York City, both published in 2003, Still playing saxophone, in a non-professional capacity, he lives and works in London.
