
Rachel Plummer is an Edinburgh-based poet. She won the Scottish Book Trust New Writers Award in 2016 and has placed in a number of other contests and awards, including the Troubadour Prize, the Flambard Prize, the Penfro, and the Canterbury Festival's Poet of the Year Award. Her poetry has appeared in publications such as The Dark Horse, Mslexia, Agenda, Interpreter's House, Gutter, and New Walk, as well as anthologies such as New Writing Scotland (2017, ASLS), The Emma Press Anthology of Love, and 154 from Living Canon, a collection of contemporary responses to Shakespeare's sonnets. She obtained a cultural commission from LGBT Youth Scotland to create the poems that feature in Wain and published a pamphlet of sci-fi poetry with House Press in 2017. She teaches youngsters and teenagers how to write creatively. She is the mother of two children, three guinea pigs, and an excessive number of books.
