Michael P. (Michael P.) Foley was born and raised in Southern California, attended Northern California schools, and obtained his doctorate in Catholic theology from Boston College. Foley taught for three years at Notre Dame before moving to Baylor University to work in the Great Texts department, where he has lived with his wife and six children for the past ten years. Ever Old, Ever New: Ruminations on the City, the Soul, and the Church; Wedding Rites: The Comprehensive Guide to Traditional Vows, Music, Ceremonies, Blessings, and Interfaith Services; and a translation of St. John Chrysostom The popular Why Do Catholics Eat Fish on Friday? and Augustine's Confessions Foley has also written over 150 essays on a variety of topics, including faith, movies, and Church history.
