Born in Leicestershire, Simon Crump studied philosophy at Sheffield University and has lived in Sheffield for the last twenty years. An internationally exhibited artist, he has lectured in fine art and photography at various universities and more recently worked as a curatorial assistant in a medical museum. His stories have appeared in a number of magazines and anthologies. His new collection Monkey's Birthday & Other Stories will be published in 2002.
