When Billy rescues Nigel the snail from his parents' pongy magic spells, they become great friends. Billy's parents don't understand the friendship, and try to tempt Billy by conjuring up other weird and wonderful pets. The problem is that they've never been very good at magic . . .

Jo Hodgkinson studied Illustration at the University of Wolverhampton. She won first prize in the Emerging Talent category of Cheltenham Illustration Awards celebrating narrative illustration. Following several years teaching Art at Istanbul International Community School, Jo has returned to the UK and is currently living in Worcester.
