Eric Rohmann was born in 1957 in Riverside, Illinois. He grew up in the Chicago suburb of Downers Grove. Eric has written four children's books: My Friend Rabbit, The Cinder-Eyed Cats, Pumpkinhead, and A Kitten's Story, and has received a Caldecott Honor Book award for Time Flies and a Caldecott Medal for My Friend Rabbit.
