My Wonderful Fran by Paul Spelzini
My Wonderful Fran is the poignant and heartfelt autobiography of Paul Spelzini whose daughter Francesca tragically committed suicide following a battle with mental illness. Francesca was a lively, bubbly, friendly girl who enjoyed making other people happy. She loved sport and loved her family. The book documents the life of Francesca and tells of holidays and time spent with her family over the years. It is both sad as well as being a positive and uplifting novel.
Paul Spelzini is 59 years old at the time of writing this book, and has been married for 31 years with 3 children, including Fran who died; and a sheepdog Topaz who is now 12. Paul is a qualified Chartered Surveyor and Building Engineer by training, with 41 years of experience in the Construction and Real Estate Industries. He is a voluntary station adopter with the Abbey Line Community rail partnership since its inception in 2005; and has run a voluntary local transport user group since 1986, campaigning for improvements and saving services that would otherwise have been lost. He is also a leading UK flight and traditional archer, having had a number of successes over the years, since taking up the sport originally as a target archer in 1998 and switching around 2005. Paul wrote 'My Wonderful Fran' originally as a biography and record of Fran's life, but felt it could also help other families struggling with ASF, Schizophrenia and other related mental illnesses.
