Born in 1945, CLIVE WILMER grew up in London and studied at King's College, Cambridge. He is a freelance writer and lecturer and the chief presenter of the Poet of the Month series on Radio 3. His previous Carcanet collections were The Dwelling-Place (1977) and Devotions (1982). He has translated Miklos Radnoti and Gyorgy Petri, edited essays by Thom Gunn, selections of Ruskin, William Morris and D. G. Rossetti. Carcanet have published three volumes of his poetry, The Dwelling-Place (1977), Devotions (1982) and Of Earthly Paradise (1992).
