It surveys the principles, analysis, characterization, applications, and technology of nanomedicine for cancer treatment, antimicrobials, antibiotics, microbials, dentistry, gene therapy, biological therapies, ocular diseases, diagnostics, targeting of tumor cells, herbal sources, drug delivery, and biomedical and food and nutrition applications. The book also offers methodological considerations for toxicity, safety, and risk assessment.

This book is a useful reference for nanotechnologists, nanoscientists, medical scientists, research fellows, graduates, and university libraries.

Sabu Thomas is a distinguished Indian scientist specializing in polymer science and nanotechnology, who serves as both an administrator and educator with students worldwide. Currently, as the Vice Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi University, India, he has guided over 120 PhD students throughout his career. His academic contributions include more than 1400 research publications and 195 edited books with prestigious publishers. Prof. Thomas has received numerous national and international accolades for his research excellence, including honorary doctorates from three universities: the University of South Brittany, the University of Lorraine in France, and the Siberian Federal University in Russia. He was elected as a foreign fellow of the European Academy of Sciences and received the Bailey Medal Award. His international collaborations have generated over 20 MoUs for Mahatma Gandhi University, significantly elevating the institution’s global academic standing.

Yarub Al-Douri, a fellow of the European Academy of Sciences, is an accomplished materials scientist who earned his Doctorat D’etat in materials science (2000) following degrees in physics. Throughout his distinguished career spanning over three decades, he has held academic positions across Iraq, Malaysia, Turkey, Algeria, Yemen, Singapore, Germany, and France, including roles as Full Professor, Visiting Professor, and Consultant Expert. He pioneered Malaysia’s first Nanotechnology Engineering MSc Program and Nano Computing Laboratory. His research focuses on nanostructures, nanoelectronics, semiconductors, renewable energy, modeling, simulation, and optical studies. Prof. Al-Douri received the Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation in 2024, Fellow of the European Academy of Sciences, and the IAAM Scientist Award from the International Association of Advanced Materials. With over 935 publications, including patents, books, chapters, papers, and conference proceedings, he has secured approximately US$5.1M in research grants throughout his career.
