Author KAY BOATNER is a Washington, D.C.-based writer and editor for National Geographic Kids and Little Kids magazines, where she regularly writes the Funny Fill-in department and manages the digital edition of the Kids magazine. As an Army brat, she's lived on military bases from Colorado to Oklahoma to Germany. Kay also regularly writes about the D.C. food scene. She enjoys reading, going to movies, and running. Her previous books include National Geographic's Funny Fill-In: My Ocean Adventure.Illustrator KEVIN RECHIN is a nationally recognized cartoonist and a native of the Washington, D.C. area. His work has appeared in most major publications, including, Time, Smithsonian, Wall Street Journal, Texas Monthly, Forbes, and National Geographic, among others. The National Cartoonist Society recognized his work in 1999 with a Reuben award for magazine illustration. He currently works out of a studio in Arlington, VA.
