Melissa Stewart has written more than 50, and edited more than 200 science books for children. Her degrees in biology and science journalism testify to her ability and desire to make science come alive. Her devotion to getting kids excited about science and the natural world takes her into the woods, where she leads nature walks and into the classroom, where she teaches writing, at the Institute of Children's Literature and other places.
