Les Beletsky is a zoology professor at a university and a professional wildlife biologist. Prior to authoring wildlife guides, he spent many years conducting field study on the ecology and behavior of birds, publishing numerous scientific reports and writing two books in the process. He is a frequent traveler to the Americas, Africa, and Australia. His fundamental outlook on life is that he would rather travel and visit new locations and exotic regions than do anything else. He currently resides in Seattle, Washington, USA.
