Ted is an associate professor in the University of Florida's Department of Journalism, where he has been teaching since 2001.
He has also taught at the University of Delaware and Lehigh University in Pennsylvania. He graduated from the University of Delaware with a bachelor's degree in communication and English-journalism and a master's degree in journalism from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism. His work on how magazine covers depicted the events of September 11 was published in the Journal of Magazine and New Media Research, and he has earned multiple teaching honors.
