Elizabeth Lesser is a cofounder of Omega Institute, the United States' biggest adult education facility devoted to health, wellness, spirituality, social change, and creativity. She is the author of Cracked Open: How Tough Circumstances Can Help Us Grow and The Seeker's Guide: Making Your Life a Spiritual Experience. She has studied and worked with important people in the field of healing--healing the self and healing society--for more than thirty years. Lower attended San Francisco State University and Barnard College. She and her husband live in the Hudson Valley with their three grown sons.
