New Hampshire by Terry Shannon

This a day to day journal about the 5000 mile boat trip known as The Loop or The Great Circle. A young man dreamed of doing this trip one day after reading a book about it. After working on the sailboat for five years it was ready to make the trip. Meeting a couple by accident, they encouraged us to start back with them. It made sense to me to travel with another couple on a boat that had made the trip several time before, so we all started off together. There are some hair-raising experiences and a lot of fun times spent as we grew closer together as a couple. Stopping in the different marinas along the intercoastal you find nice people and interesting towns to visit. Dolphins swam along side us many times. And one encounter with a swan in a place called Glimmer Glass. You talk about a beautiful sight, there were so many you will have to read to learn about all of them. The world is as different from the water, as it is from the highway or air. There is so much history and beauty on the water you have to see to appreciate. We didn't always see eye to eye but we did have a wonderful time and would encourage everyone to follow their dream whatever it might be. I hope you enjoy reading this story as much as we did experiencing it. Let me know at joephilbert@aol.com.
