New Portable Architecture by Wang Shaoqiang
This title deals with the challenges that architects and designers face in creating spaces that can be rapidly constructed, taken down and even relocated. In revealing the cutting-edge techniques that are allowing static architectural forms to go mobile, the diverse examples provided in this book will capture readers' attention and imagination.
"Published under a single cover is a most wide-ranging presentation of moveable structuresThe big and the small, the sensible and the quirky, the rustic and the deluxe, the serious and the entertaining, even the exotic, are offered on the pages of this new book. In the times in which we currently live, these projects - some more than others, of course- cannot help but inspire ideas and cause one to ponder the possibilities of an alternative approach to habitation. Now, let us imagine for a moment that everyone lived in a yurt or a tree house" Anna Sansom in DAMn , A Magazine on Contemporary Culture.
