Berenice Abbott's Changing New York project, circa 1939, created a majestic documentation of Manhattan and the surrounding boroughs. Since 1997, Douglas Levere has been returning to the original sites with the identical camera Abbott used, an 8X10 Century Universal, shooting those sites at the same time of day and year. The resulting images show the city's evolution over 65 years. BA in Design Studies from the University of Buffalo. Freelance photographer, based in New York. In 1995, he started working on his own as a portrait photographer for national magazines and photographed covers for Newsweek, Business Week, and many other business magazines. Has worked regularly for Newsweek, Business Week, Forbes, TV Guide, People, The American Lawyer, among others. Lavere lives in New York, NY.
