Harri Nykanen (born in Helsinki in 1953) is a detective novelist and former criminal reporter for Helsingin Sanomat, Finland's leading daily newspaper. In 1990 and 2001, he won the Finnish criminal fiction prize The Clue. His stories portray the criminal underground via the eyes of a terrorist, a criminal, and, more recently, an eccentric Finnish police inspector.
