Nighty-Nightmare by James Howe

The Monroes and their pets are camping at Boggy Lake on a fun outdoor adventure - at least it is for the humans. The pets are not so sure. The two guys in the tent next door look distinctly unwholesome, as does their drooling bulldog, Dawg. Chester's antennae for unnatural goings-on are on red alert - Dawg has a weird look about him, and a rather aggressive manner. But when he invites Harold, Howie and Chester to take a walk in the woods with him, nobody likes to say no. Hours later, they realise they're lost. Has Dawg deliberately led them astray? And if so, what does he plan to do with them? Will they ever get out of the woods alive . . ?

James Howe's debut book, Bunnicula, first published in the States in 1979 where it has received great acclaim and been the basis of a popular TV special. James lives in New York with Zoey, his daughter from his second marriage.
David Melling illustrated the popular Iggy Pig series, and is gaining a strong reputation for his picture books, including the successful Jump In! With Ian Whybrow. David lives in Oxfordshire with his Croatian wife
