Goldie was born in Walsall in 1966. His father left soon after he was born and his mother put him into care when he was three. He remained in a succession of institutions and foster homes until he was sixteen. He became a renown graffiti artist and soon after his DJing career exploded. He still DJs at numerous festivals and has a regular legendary Sunday night session in a club in London. He has played the villain Angel in 'EastEnders' and the baddie in 'The World is Not Enough' and 'Snatch'. Having sold 2 million records worldwide, collaborated with the likes of Madonna and David Bowie, and produced artists such as The Fugees, Bjork and the Stone Roses, he is hailed as the most diverse and prominent figure in jungle and drum'n'bass music.
