Nine Summers by Rina Huber
When Felix Huber was diagnosed with a rare cancer at age 60, he and his wife, Rina, had a choice: draw inwards and eke out whatever time he had left, or gamble on their future and live out their dream of sailing the Mediterranean. The couple, sweethearts since childhood, chose to celebrate life. They had nine glorious summers of adventuring before Felix died. This is their heart warming story.
Rina was in her 30s and had two children before she began university studies with the support of her husband, Felix. She tutored in Anthropology at Sydney University and then lectured in Sociology and Anthropology at the University of Technology, Sydney. She has written numerous journal articles and chapters in academic texts and has written one previous book, From Pasta to Pavlova, A Comparative Study of Italian Immigrants in Sydney and Griffith, published by the University of Queensland Press in 1977.
