Nocturne For a Nondescript by Sheila Heywood
Helen, a self-doubting Yorkshire woman meets a celebrated, married musician on the Eurostar, while travelling to Paris. Their liaison leads to excitement, mystery and menace, as through her profession, Helen also encounters the beautiful, vindictive woman who, many years before, destroyed her young life. As all their lives intermingle and Helen faces danger, her soul-searching reveals what really matters in life. But is it too late?
Sheila Heywood was born in Leeds and grew up in Yorkshire. She started writing fiction as a young child and in later years wrote stories for BBC Radio Leeds. One of the stories was bought by Anglia Television for "Tales of the Unexpected" but, after the contract was signed, the series was axed and her contribution never televised. She became a teacher of English as a foreign language in 1987 and moved to Paris in 1990 where she lived and worked until 2013. She now lives in Stockport with her partner Chris and their Border Terrier. Literature, both reading and writing, has always been her passion. She has written three novels and continues to write short stories.
