Oak, the Littlest Leaf Girl by Lucy Fleming
An enchanting picture book story, and an ideal Christmas gift stocking filler, from the creator of Ella’s Night Lights and Lily the Pond Mermaid about facing change, learning to voice difficult emotions and taking a leap into the unknown. Oak is the teensy little, magical leaf girl, who lives in the middle of the woods. When summer turns to autumn and leaves begin to change - Oak and her family must leave their tree. It is time for them to float down to the ground where they can nestle into their cosy winter acorn home, and see out the cold until spring returns once more. Will Oak be brave enough to take a leap from the comfort of her Oak tree? And why is change so hard? - Perfect for children aged 3-5 years! - Ideal for fans of fairies, fantasy and miniature worlds, this is a truly adorable picture book that celebrates the hidden magic of nature. - Gently explores key social and emotional themes, such as fear of change, resilience and giving children the space and time to make a decision that feels right for them. - Glittering foil finish on the cover! Have you met Oak’s enchanting picture book friends? - Ella’s Night Lights Ella is a little moth girl who only comes out at night to collect shimmering lights and guide other animals to safety… - Lily, the Pond Mermaid Lily is a pond mermaid who loves looking after her pond home and all who live in it…
the way Oak resists change and the unknown will resonate with young children - and Lucy’s story with its fairytale woodland setting provides a warm, non-threatening way to demonstrate the importance of courage, accepting the need for change and taking it in your stride* Red Reading Hub *
