On the One Road to Lisbon by Michael Herron
This is the story of a bunch of lads from Glasgow who followed their team, Glasgow Celtic, on an epic journey to the European Cup Final in 1967 in Lisbon in a twelve-seater VW bus.
Having supported Celtic all of his life, Michael Herron was once invited at age seventeen to play for Manchester United by a scout. Instead, he pursued a political career, working in Washington D.C. and for the Labour party in London. He was recently awarded a PHD in genocide studies from Kingston University in London.
