On the Pennine Way by Alfred Wainwright

Like most people, when I first heard about postmodernism, I thought it was absolutely the most ridiculous and ludicrous worldview I had ever encountered. Initially, it sounded like another meaningless mind game hatched by some intellectual types hidden away in an ivory tower. However, I quickly learned that postmodernism is a reaction to the most profound spiritual and philisophical crises of our time and very indicative of the spiritual status of 21st Century North America. After discovering the implications of a postmodern worldview, I wanted to know what to do about it.fast. However, I was frustrated to discover that the vast majority of ministry resources, especially in the areas of personal evangelism and church growth were not geared towards reaching a postmodern culture. Therefore, I researched churches that were effectively reaching and ministering to this new generation. During this same period, over a cheeseburger and fries, some teen-agers from my church asked me, What exactly is postmodernism and what should we be doing about it? Minus the cheeseburger and fries this book answers these two pertinent questions for doing ministry in the 21st Century.
