James DeMeo, PhD, got his PhD in 1986 after studying Earth, Atmospheric, and Environmental Sciences at Florida International University and the University of Kansas. His study has spanned the social and natural sciences and has been interdisciplinary. Through on-going drought abatement field work in North America, Africa, and Israel, he conducted groundbreaking study on the significance of harsh desert climates and starvation in the beginnings of human conflict. Dr. DeMeo has had a lifetime fascination with astronomy. His interest in the ether-drift phenomenon and related works on cosmic energy began in high school, and he continued his research and experimentation in universities.

He taught Physical and Social Geography, Climatology, and Renewable Energy courses on the faculties of Geography at the University of Kansas, Illinois State University, the University of Miami, and the University of Northern Iowa. DeMeo has been the Director of the Orgone Biophysical Research Laboratory, a private, non-profit high-altitude research facility and observatory in the Siskiyou Mountains of Southern Oregon, since 1989.
