Luke McEwen was born in Chichester, West Sussex, UK in 1964, the second son of Andrew and Anitra McEwen. His father was a journalist for the Daily Mail for twenty six years, finally ending that career as chief diplomatic correspondent to the Financial Times. Luke spent four years of his childhood in Freeport, New York, and eighteen months in Brussels, where he attended the Common Market School. He finally returned to his home town nine years later in 1973. Luke went to the University of East Anglia and studied Politics and Sociology. Just to avoid any confusion, he sadly did not attend the UEA's famous writing course. But did attend Chichester College's creative writing course led by Julia Homan. Luke continues to work and live in Chichester with his son. He is a keen potter and painter, tennis and saxophone player. He has a blog and writer's website at www.lukemcewen.co.uk
