One More Time by Mike Royko

Culled from 7500 columns and spanning four decades, from Mike Rokyo's early days to his last dispatch, the writings in this collection reflect a radically changing America as seen by a man whose sense of justice and humour never faltered.

Mike Royko was born in Chicago in 1932 and spent his childhood in a flat above his family's Milwaukee Avenue restaurant. His column was syndicated in over 600 newspapers across the country, making him the most widely read columnist in Chicago history. Boss, a famous account of city machine politics, was also written by him. Mike Royko's final Chicago Tribune column was published in March 1997, a month before his death. On a lovely day in Wrigley Field, his memorial service was held.
