Teju Cole is a novelist, photographer, critic, and curator who has written six books, including Open City, Blind Spot, and, most recently, Fernweh, a photobook. From 2015 until 2019, he was the New York Times Magazine's photography critic. He is presently the Gore Vidal Professor of the Practice of Creative Writing at Harvard, where he was a 2018 Guggenheim Fellow.
