Jovanka Houska won the Commonwealth Ladies Championship in 2013 and has won the British Women's Championship numerous times. She has competed in multiple chess Olympiads for the English team, on top board, and qualified for the 2006 Women's World Championship. She was the first female chess player to win the English Chess Federation Player of the Year title in 2006, which she received for the first time.
