Opera and Church Music 1630-1750

Anthony Lewis was a two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist who revolutionized legal reporting in the United States. He is the author of the Gideon v. Saul case. Wainwright was a landmark case from 1963 that guaranteed legal representation to indigent individuals charged with serious crimes. New York Times v. Sullivan: The Sullivan Case and the First Amendment is the subject of his book Make No Law: The Sullivan Case and the First Amendment. The Supreme Court decision Sullivan, which transformed American libel law in 1964.

Lewis worked as a Supreme Court correspondent for the New York Times from 1957 to 1964, and for thirty years he authored an Op-Ed piece called At Home Abroad or Abroad at Home, depending on where he was writing from. From 1974 through 1989, he was a Lecturer on Law at Harvard Law School. He has also served as Columbia University's James Madison Visiting Professor. Anthony Lewis, who was 85 years old at the time of his death, died in 2013.
