She served as pastor's wife while raising their eight children. In 1980 she earned a Master of Education degree with a major in counseling from Seattle Pacific University and founded Creative Christian Counseling, which she offered for twenty years. She began AOD, Acres of Diamonds, a Christian program and home for homeless women and their children in Duvall, Washington in 1995.
