Gene Logsdon produced more than two dozen volumes, both practical and philosophical, on all elements of rural life and affairs during his long life and career as a writer, farmer, and journalist. Gene Everlasting, A Sanctuary of Trees, and Living at Nature's Pace are among his nonfiction writings. He wrote an award-winning column for the Carey, Ohio, Progressor Times, as well as a popular blog called The Contrary Farmer. Gene wrote for Farming Magazine and The Draft Horse Journal, among other publications. He farmed and lived in Upper Sandusky, Ohio, until his death in 2016, just weeks after publishing his final book, Letter to a Young Farmer.
