Other Side of Paradise by Staceyann Chin

Staceyann Chin works as an artist full-time. She is a Jamaican national who lives in New York City and has been an out poet and political activist since 1998. From the Nuyorican Poets' Cafe to Off-Broadway one-woman shows, to appearing in Julie Taymor's Across the Universe and participating in both the stage and film adaptations of Howard Zinn's Voices of a People's History of the United States, to starring in Russell Simmons' Tony-nominated Def Poetry Jam on Broadway, Chin credits her grandmother's hard-working background. She is the author of The Other Side of Paradise, a memoir, and Crossfire, a poetry collection.
