Out Of The Night by Richard Julias Herman Krebs

Communist party agitator Richard Julias Herman Krebs (alias Jan Valtin), lays bare a 1920s and 1930s Germany, ripe with revolt, political intrigue and betrayal. Valtin unflinchingly recounts a world full of revolutionary possibility gone immeasurably wrong.

Richard Julius Herman Krebs a.k.a. Richard Julius Herman Krebs a.k.a. Richard Julius Herman Krebs a.k.a. Richard Julius Herman Krebs Jan Valtin grew up during a marine uprising and went on to act as a professional revolutionary for the German Communist Party. His life was intertwined with the dramatic events of Germany in the 1920s and 1930s, where he ascended through the ranks of the Communist Party and was placed on the Gestapo hit list. Krebs spent his final years in the United States, where he published his astonishing memoirs, after deceiving the Nazis to get out of prison and avoiding his own former comrades' attempts to have him assassinated.
