Overthrow by Shawn Lamb
It has been 260 years since Tristan was crowned. His devotion to Jor'el guided his reign. But not all his descendants proved loyal to what he established. Now only a handful of Jor'ellian Knights and an aged Vicar remain committed to the Old Faith. The ambitious Baron Zared begins to influence King Berk further from his heritage. As King's Champion, Sir Niles of Pollux finds himself caught between his duty to protect the royal family and the call of the Jor'ellians to defend the Old Faith from Zared's machinations. Can Niles reason with a stubborn king? Will he and his Jor'ellian compatriots discover the secret Zared is hiding? What of the Guardians? Will they be able to stop the House of Tristan from failing?
Shawn began writing in her late teens and kept pursing a career, eventually writing for the 1980s Filmation animated series Bravestarr. She continued honing her craft, winning awards and earning recognition for screenwriting from the American Screenwriters Association. While pitching historical fiction to various publishers, her daughter asked her if she could write her a fantasy story. It was a challenge switching genres but one she accepted. Taking the skills learned from writing for children's television along with experience dealing with children in AWANA and during her time in Civil Air Patrol working with teens, she began the Allon series. The result are stories of commitment, faith, and endurance; commitment to a cause, the faith to overcome obstacles and the endurance to see it through to the end. Shawn lives near Nashville, Tennessee.
