Martin Waddell is widely acknowledged as one of the greatest living writers of books for children. His work includes the multi-million selling Big and Little Bear series. He has won many awards, including the prestigious Hans Christian Andersen Award in 2004. Martin lives in Northern Ireland. Patrick Benson attended Chelsea Art School and Eton, Florence, where he studied classical drawing. He has illustrated for a wide range of authors including Martin Waddell and Roald Dahl, and won the Emil/Kurt Maschler Award for The Little Boat by Kathy Henderson. He lives in Hawick, Scottish Borders.
