Summary
The feel-good place to buy books

Oxford Handbook of Clinical Medicine for PDA by Murray Longmore
This new version of The Oxford Handbook of Clinical Medicine for PDA enables enhanced, multi-layered access to the entire text, illustrations and tables. Fast access is available via the table of contents, index and full-text search, and there is a facility for bookmarking and annotating the text. It is suitable for all Palm and Pocket PC devices, as well as PDA-enabled mobile phones. The Oxford Handbook of Clinical Medicine covers all areas of internal medicine and provides rapid, on-the-spot access to evidence-based clinical management. Its characteristic style - combining incisive guidance with wit, a lucid style, and memorable epigrams - has been popular with generations of medical students and junior doctors the world over. There are a host of new features in this edition: new sections on common acute medical symptoms, and clinical skills; a new 'cheat sheet' on commonly used drugs; more colour plates, and more ECGs. There are numerous other updates and improvements throughout, many suggested by extensive market research. The pages have been redesigned in full colour.
The Oxford Handbook of Clinical Medicine has long been a favourite source of evidence-based clinical information amongst medical students and junior doctorsWith the popularity of mobility, this original chunky paperback book can now be slimmed down to a few megabytes on a pocket PC. Now, who wouldn't want that? The whole installation/update process is pain free. The OHCM6 interface in nicely laid out. The contents and index makes it easy to navigate through the handbook's huge amount of content. The bookmarks and history feature allows you to backtrack through favourite and previously-viewed content. If you wanted to achieve something similar with the actual book, you'd have a hundred Post-it notes everywhere! Not a pretty sight, in my opinion. I think the electronic version is well worth the money spent. www.pocketpcthoughts.com
Tony Hope has handed co-authorship to Dr Ian Wilkinson, Consultant Physician, Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge, who becomes the new hospital-based author (Dr Longmore is a general practitioner). The junior author for this edition is Dr Este Trk, Specialist Registrar in Infectious Diseases in Oxford.
