Oxford School Shakespeare: Oxford School Shakespeare: Macbeth by William Shakespeare
Oxford School Shakespeare is an acclaimed edition especially designed for students, with accessible on-page notes and explanatory illustrations, clear background information, and rigorous but accessible scholarly credentials. In this edition of Macbeth, illustrations have been extended and updated; the preliminary notes have been expanded; reading lists have been updated, and include websites; and the classroom notes have been brought in line with recent practice. Macbeth is a set text for 11-14 year olds in England and remains one of the most accessible and popular of Shakespeare's plays for secondary students the world over.
The book contains not only the script of the play, but also very good summaries of all the scenes and charactersBefore purchasing this Oxford version of what must rank as one of Shakespeare's greatest and well known plays, I looked at a number of different versions of the play, but it was this one that stood out above all others. For example, it is slightly wider than other versions and has plenty of space on each page so that notes can be written in the margins alongside the script. This is an excellent version of the play and ideal for class study. Highly recommended. * 5 star Amazon review *
