Hi, I'm Valeri Stallings. In 2003 I founded 2 Doggie Daycares and Training Centers in Ventura County, CA called, 'Send Rover on Over'. I am a CPDT, KA, a Behavioral Consultant, a CGC Evaluator, an RN, and just short of having my BS degree in Animal Science with a focus on Companion Canines. After rehabilitating dozens of young adult dogs that were denied early puppy training and socialization, I implemented a complimentary puppy social program to get you and your puppy out there. Do it early, and do it safe is the motto. Do not take your pup anywhere until they are fully vaccinated is the worst advice any new puppy parent can hear. Keep it safe and keep it clean is the better way to go. This book, as well as my clean and safe puppy programs, will teach you how to have a happy, social, confident, desirable puppy. We have a full house every week for puppy play, which is followed by a very informative group puppy kindergarten program. I have been privileged with hundreds of puppies to learn from and teach, as well as thousands of adult dogs for over a decade now at my facilities. All these dogs and their people have given me the upper hand and first hand knowledge about puppy and dog personalities, breed specific characteristics, age specific tendencies, behavioral modification, and positive reinforcement methods of training. I teach not only from my educational aspect and participation in dog-related organizations and activities, but from personal experience raising my own Labs, Papillons, and American Eskimo as well. This is my first book. I read it a ton of times, and I think it is well worth all the effort I put into it to help you raise your puppy right from day 1.
