Painting Floral Botanicals by Michelle Temares
Some of the most commonly seen accessories in home decor are botanical prints. This book teaches readers how to achieve the unique look of these painting, using easy-to-find bottled acrylic paints that can be thinned with water to give a layered, translucent watercolor effect. The book begins with a chapter on simple painting techniques used in this style, including how to make color washes of acrylic paints and how to place the design on to the surface to make a good composition. The heart of the book presents 8 step-by-step projects on a variety of floral subjects, including wildflowers, flowering herbs, bulb flowers, delphiniums and other favorite botanical subjects. Readers, will also learn how to accurately render leaves and stems; paint borders and tes stains; and matte, frame and display finished artwork. Drawings and patterns accompany every project.
