ENGLISH DESCRIPTION

A heartfelt journey through the breads and baking traditions of Spain. A very complete book about the history of bread in our country.

Pan de pueblo / Town Bread is a true recount of the Spanish baking tradition. Ibán Yarza compiles the bread culture of the fifty provinces of Spain: the recipes of the most traditional breads of each one and also the bakers, people, and history of all of the rites associated with this millenary food.

Accompanied by incomparable graphics (pictures of dough, bread, and bakers), this book transmits a message of love for bread as well as respect and recognition towards this millenary trade.

Ibán Yarza (Zaragoza, 1974) is a curious and enamored of the mass, Bach, cycling, and birds. It's been a while since the world of pan changed communication and translation in its broadest sense. Ibán is an authentic harinas and ferments flipper who now spends his time traveling over Spain, teaching people how to make bread at home, though he also does it via the internet, television, land, sea, and air. He is the author of the most popular pan book in Spain (Pan casero) and has translated several classics in the field (Hecho a mano, by Dan Lepard; and El pan, by Jeffrey Hamelman). When he isn't teaching classes, the easiest way to find him is buried among stacks of books about his passion or while searching for plane tickets to cross the 60th parallel.
