Set in Uganda in1972 the year of Idi Amins expulsion of the Asian community, it tells the story of Freya a newly married young English woman arrives in Uganda anxious to settle into expatriate life with her husband. When the house servant, Keziah becomes pregnant she suspects her husband may be the father.
Pat Holden lived and worked in the 1970s in Uganda, Malawi, Nigeria and Egypt. This was followed by a career as a social anthropologist working in international development in the UK, New York, Geneva and Barbados. She has trained as an actor and solo performer and written plays. This is her first novel.
