Paradise Park by Karen Ingham
Paradise Park is an anthology of photographs organised by Karen Ingham and taken by professional photographers, students and local residents. Their subject is Townhill, an estate perched on a hill above Swansea, south Wales, which was once at the cutting edge of urban planning but is now run down and with various social problems. Robert Minhinnick supplies an accompanying and evocative prose text.
Karen Ingham was born in England but raised in the US as a member of a peripetetic Texan oil family. The author of several books, subject of several exhibitions and an award-winning televisin film-maker, she is currently Senior Lecturer in Photography at Swansea Institute. Robert Minhinnick is an eminent and prize-winning poet, translator and essayist. He is currently the editor of the quarterly international poetry magazine, Poetry Wales.
