Known as Pedro to his comrades and Tiggy to his family, Osgood Villiers Hanbury was a charismatic Eton schoolboy who, before his untimely death aged 25, became acting squadron leader of 260 Squadron in the Middle East and was awarded the DFC and bar for his bravery. Rhoderick-Jones, Robin: - Robin Rhoderick-Jones joined the Queen's Royal Irish Hussars in 1962 and soon saw active service in the Borneo campaign. In 1967 he flew army helicopters for The Queen's Own Hussars in Aden during its last six months as a British colony. He commanded the Irish Hussars from 1979 to 1981 during which he led a multinational component of the Commonwealth Monitoring Force which supervised Rhodesia's first full elections which led to the creation of Zimbabwe.
