Frans Lanting has been acclaimed as one of our generation's greatest photographers. His photography has been commissioned often by National Geographic, where he has served as a Photographer in Residence, and has appeared in books, publications, and exhibitions all around the world. Frans Lanting, according to The New Yorker, no photographer turns animals into art more fully than Frans Lanting. Okavango: Africa's Last Paradise, LIFE: A Journey Through Time, Jungles, Penguin, Eye to Eye, Bonobo: The Lost Ape, Living Planet, Forgotten Edens, and Madagascar: A World Out of Time are among his past works. Lanting has won multiple prizes for his work as a photographer and conservationist, including World Press Photo's top honors, the Sierra Club's Ansel Adams Award, the title of BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year, and the Lennart Nilsson Award in Sweden. He was made a Knight in the Royal Order of the Golden Ark by Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands, the country's highest conservation honor.
