Perfect Plants for Your Garden by Martyn Rix
This guide provides a selection of 1500 of the best, easiest to grow and most readily available garden plants, including trees, shrubs, roses, perennials, bulbs and annuals. Each chapter contains photographs of the plants wither in their habitat or laid out for easy indentification. The book is organized for easy reference, into for example, trees by size, and roses divided into modern, old, miniatures and climbing and arranged by colour and perennials, bulbs and shrubs by flowering time. There is also information on how and where to grow each plant.
In 1975 Roger Phillips set out to develop an encyclopedic collection of books to show the difference between plants as diverse as mosses, roses and annuals. His first book, Wild Flowers of Britain (1977), was a huge success, selling 400,000 copies in the first year. He has since written more than twenty additional volumes (often with his co-author Martyn Rix) selling over six million copies worldwide. Roger has also written and presented two major six-part TV series on gardening for the BBC and Channel 4.
