A collection of essays creating the story of Perthshire, and covering all aspects of the area's history, landscape and culture. This book includes information on geology and landscape, early peoples, the Romans, the Dark Ages, the Trossachs, place names, dialect and some famous local people.
Donald Omand, until his recent retirement, ran the University of Aberdeen's continuing education programme in the North islands and Highlands. He has written and edited numerous books, including "The Borders Book" and "The Argyll Book." He lives in Caithness.
