Pete Rose was born in Cincinnati and played baseball for the Cincinnati Reds and then the Philadelphia Phillies. He has the all-time baseball records for most hits (4,256), singles (3,215), games played (3,562), at-bats (14,053), and outs (10,328) in his career. Rose made his major-league debut for the Reds in April 1963, a week before his twenty-second birthday, and he played his final major-league game for the Reds in August 1986, when he was forty-five years old. He appeared in seventeen separate All-Star Games and was a member of three World Series-winning teams.
