Phase Change Materials-Based Photonic Computing by Harish Bhaskaran

Phase Change Materials-Based Photonic Computing provides a clear introduction to the field, introducing concepts of photonics, computing, phase change materials and future outlooks. Phase change materials are well known and studied in many contexts, and photonics is a longstanding field, with photonic neuromorphic computing recently gathering interest. However, the two fields are disparate and few people understand the key concepts needed to integrate the two. This book will be the first to do so in this promising field. It is suitable for researchers and practitioners in academia and industry working in the disciplines of materials science and engineering, electrical engineering and computing.
Harish Bhaskaran is Professor of Applied Nanomaterials at Oxford and leads the Advanced Nanoscale Engineering Group. He has taught courses in Materials and Nanomaterials to both Graduate and Undergraduate Students. He has also worked in industry before coming to Academia and had held the EPSRC Manufacturing Fellowship since 2013. His research focuses on nanomechanical devices, data storage and nanomanufacturing. He also serves as the Founding Director and Chief Scientific Officer of Bodle Technologies Limited. 2015 – present Professor (W3), Physics Institute, WWU Münster 2013 – 2018 Helmholtz International Research Group Leader, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) 2011 – 2015 Emmy-Noether Research Group Leader, KIT 2008 – 2011 Feodor-Lynen Fellow of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, Dept. of Electrical Engineering, Yale University (USA), Prof. H.
